SRT versus WebVTT

SRT is widely supported by desktop media players and editing software. WebVTT uses a similar cue model with web-friendly timestamps and optional display settings, making it the normal choice for HTML video.

What this tool changes

It normalizes cue numbers and timestamps while retaining caption text. WebVTT cue settings are preserved when the input contains them. Styling and region definition blocks are not carried into SRT.
